MENTZ develops planning and information systems for all forms of transportation. These include system solutions that guide travelers through major cities like Chicago, London, or Dubai, not only explaining whether it’s faster to take a bike or public transit but also offering the right ticket on the spot.

As a Database Administrator, you will be part of a small team responsible for maintaining MENTZ’s in-house databases as well as the databases of our customers, both on-premises and in the AWS Cloud. Collaboration and communication within the team are key success factors in your work.

What does your daily routine look like?

  • You will take responsibility for setting up and managing databases at MENTZ and for our customers
  • You will work with technologies such as ORACLE, PostgreSQL, REDIS, and mongoDB
  • In addition to on-premises databases, you will also use AWS services, including database solutions like RDS, Aurora, DocumentDB, and Elastic Cache, as well as networking services like VPC, ALB/NLB, and Route53
  • You will collaborate closely with the developers of our applications to support them as a Database Administrator
  • You will handle DBA tasks in direct contact with our customers
  • Writing shell scripts in common scripting languages will be part of your daily routine

  • You have a completed (technical) university degree, a comparable educational qualification, or relevant professional experience as a Database Administrator or a similar role in IT
  • You are proficient in Linux and its standard tools
  • You have good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
