IT-System Engineer – Linux/Windows/Cloud

MENTZ develops planning and information systems for all forms of transportation. This includes system solutions that guide travelers through major cities like Chicago, London, or Dubai, not only explaining whether it’s faster to travel by bike or public transit but also offering the right ticket on the spot.

We are a team of 15 employees, managing the IT for MENTZ and our customers both on-premise and in the AWS cloud. To support the growing infrastructure of our cloud-based environments for national and international clients, we are looking for reinforcement.

What does your daily routine look like?

  • You’re truly passionate about the topic: You are motivated and curious about new IT systems and technologies in the IT world
  • You will manage the administration and operation of MENTZ services in the AWS Cloud
  • You will operate the network, including the firewall, load balancers, etc.
  • You will work closely with the developers of our applications to optimize system requirements for operations
  • The list of tools we use is extensive. In addition to AWS services, you will work with tools such as Ansible, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, OpenSearch, Nginx, and Apache
  • Writing shell scripts in common scripting languages will be part of your daily routine

What should you bring to the role?

  • You work independently, reliably, and accurately, and you enjoy collaborating with others
  • You are enthusiastic and willing to engage with new technologies and continue your professional development
  • You have a completed (technical) university degree or a comparable qualification, or several years of professional experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT role
  • You are proficient with Linux and its standard tools; knowledge of Windows is an advantage
  • Ideally, you have gained practical experience with the AWS Cloud
  • You have good skills in working with networking technologies (e.g., firewalls, load balancers)
