MENTZ Expands Presence in Australia: Successful DDIP Go-Live with Yarra Trams
Melbourne/Munich – Right on schedule on Monday, December 1st, we went live with our Data Hub (DDIP) at Yarra Trams. MENTZ is thus expanding its customer base in Australia and once again demonstrating how agile and efficient the implementation of complex IT projects in public transport can be.
A Project of Superlatives
The background to the project was challenging: Yarra Trams, the operator of the world’s largest tram network in Melbourne, required the delivery of real-time data and disruption information in the SIRI standard starting December 1, 2025. This meant there was less than 3 months from the kick-off to the go-live. Tackling a project like this in such a short time, across multiple time zones, required an exceptional team effort. The collaboration with the colleagues at Yarra Trams was not only professional but also a human enrichment.
To meet the requirements of Yarra Trams, we implemented the following components:
- A proprietary converter that translates the data from the Tramtracker API into SIRI SX
- The MENTZ DDIP, which integrates SIRI ET, PT, VM, and SX data
We look forward to a long collaboration with Yarra Trams.
