On-Demand Services are Popular in the Greater Munich Area
According to a local newspaper report, on-demand transport is very popular in Munich, Germany. In fact, county officials from just outside Munich claim that their county, Fürstenfeldbruck (FFB), is at the forefront of on-demand transport in Germany. One of the reasons why on-demand transport has succeeded is because of pooling, when 2-3 passengers are able to take the same, booked journey. Pooling numbers from January to June 2024 totaled 50,217 passengers. In addition to the on-demand services in FFB, the Munich transport authority (MVV) app also provides information for similar services in the surrounding counties of Dachau, Freising, Ebersberg, as well as flex-transport in the county that comprises most of Munich. Booking is simple: just a single tap in the app.
