VRT Mobil Launched in Trier
The Transport Authority of Trier (VRT) presented its new app, VRT mobil, at the beginning of October 2024. It’s a customer version of the MENTZ’s mobility-as-a-service app, Gullivr.
The VRT mobile app is your smart mobility companion for buses and trains in the Eifel, Hunsrück, and Trier regions, as well as on and around the Moselle, Ruwer, Saar, and Sauer rivers. The regional app includes the following features, which can be viewed directly in the route overview: route planning, ticket purchasing (which includes the Deutschland Ticket), on-demand transport booking, and quick access to purchased tickets and the latest notifications. A number of additional features help the VRT advertise their app as a practical all-in-one solution for public transport in the region.
On the go with the VRT mobil app: Gullivr makes it all possible!
“The app is both intuitive and user-friendly. This is because its interface can be easily modified to fit different users needs. Frequently used routes and stops can be saved as favorites,” said Kareem Elcheikh, project manager at MENTZ.
The VRT presents the app to its customers in short videos on their website to help users switch to the new system. What is new at VRT mobil? The previous Magento shop was replaced by MENTZ’s ticket shop. Users can now directly purchase the complete range of online tickets and the Deutschland Ticket on their smartphone. Tickets can be quickly and easily purchased using PayPal and a credit card. “The changeover to the new ticket shop went smoothly. This included transferring all existing ticket subscriptions,” confirmed Elcheikh.
